Dr. Poolos is a board certified Neurosurgeon and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Following six years of Residency Training (the last four at University Hospitals (CWRU) of Cleveland), he served two years as a staff Neurosurgeon at the United States Naval Hospital (Balboa Park) in San Diego, California. Upon returning to Cleveland, he joined Dr. James Gardner and his group in the practice of Neurosurgery.

In time, Dr. Poolos started an independent practice at Fairview Hospital where he was appointed, and still is, the Chief of the Section of Neurosurgery. He was appointed Clinical Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, a position he also still maintains.

Dr. Poolos has developed a strong interest in spinal conditions and he strongly believes in the conservative, minimal microscopic approach to both the neck and lower back.

Dr. Poolos also diagnoses and treats Carpal Tunnel and Ulnar Nerve conditions.

Dr. Poolos encourages questions and participation by close family members. All patient visits are treated as highly confidential.

Also on a case-by-case basis, Dr. Poolos may review medical-legal cases.

Priscilla T. Poolos is a Registered Nurse who has worked with Dr. Poolos for twenty years. Prior to that she worked in the Intensive Care Unit at Fairview Hospital as the Only Volunteer Nurse, and gained great experience with neurological patients.

In keeping with the policy of Dr. Poolos, Priscilla exhibits compassion and personal service.

Mark has been part of the "team" for over 14 years. He received his bachelor of arts degree from Cleveland State University in 2003. He has many years of experience in triaging neurosurgical patients and was made a Physician-Patient Liaison for Dr. Poolos in 1997. He spends a great deal of time with our patients before and after surgery and has a great deal of experience and knowledge in workers compensation and insurance issues.

He also oversees our complete office and billing center. If you have any workers compensation or accident issues related to your treatment please make sure to discuss them with Mark.
